For those (like me!) who are interested, the band that Steve Jones and
Paul Cook put together after the Sex Pistols split up - called The
Professionals - are reforming.
They are in rehearsal right now.
Only
thing is, it's unfortunately without Jones.
But, it will be the other 3 - Paul Cook, Ray McVeigh, and Paul Meyers -
and a new singer replacing Jones. I don't like it - at all - when bands
change singers (see the Undertones as a perfect example).
But, I'd
still go and see them, as the Professionals put out some great singles
and one album (the rawer version of the album, rather than the polished I Didn't See It Coming is far better).
I hope they come to Texas and
play!

"Human-like but strangely disfigured bodies"
That's the title of a new Mysterious Universe article from me, on Roswell.
It begins...
"If there is one thing, more than any other, that is guaranteed to get the Roswell UFO research community in a collective state of fury, it’s a discussion of the theory that what came down on the Foster Ranch, Lincoln County, New Mexico in the summer of 1947 was a top secret device of terrestrial, rather than extra-terrestrial origins.
"Clenched fists, red faces, stuttering and stammering, and arms folded tightly and defensively are the usual reactions to such discussions. I even saw a spontaneous nosebleed once. No joke. And when you see that happen you just know the person has lost the plot. Yep, I’ve seen them all. Well, aside from one."

The Atticus Institute: Reviewing Demons
There's a new review from me at Mysterious Universe, on a new movie called The Atticus Institute, which focuses on attempts by the US Government to harness and weaponize demonic phenomena. It's a good, thought-provoking fim.
Here's the link.

Allen Ginsberg and the FBI
If, like me, you're a big fan of the writings of the "Beat" and post-"Beat" authors, you might be interested to know that the FBI has declassified its files on beardy-poet Allen Ginsberg. As much as I like the writings of the Beats, however, I can't stand poetry; bunch of pretentious, self-important claptrap. The file's interesting though.

Death Worms and "Other" Roswell Mysteries
Over at Mysterious Universe, I take a look at (a) the strange saga of the Mongolian Death Worm; and (b) the other mysteries of Roswell (the latter may offer much relief for those sick and tired of the fucking fiasco known as the "Roswell Slides").
PS: for those who may be wondering, the photo above relates directly to one of those other mysteries of Roswell. As I note in the article, back in late 2005, me and a bunch of friends held a midnight seance in one of the old hangars at Roswell...

Roswell Slides Latest
Thanks to the excellent work of Shepherd Johnson (who used the Freedom of Information Act and who has just secured a near-200 page collection of material on the matter), it's finally time to put the "Roswell Slides" issue to rest. Check it out!

Mammoths & Mastodons: Survivors?
Did Mammoths and Mastodons survive for longer than we're told? As in much longer? Maybe. That's the subject of my new Mysterious Universe article.

And a few more new Mysterious Universe articles from me:
1. An official report on a huge UFO seen during the Second World War;
2. A grinning Man in Black;
3. Hairy Wild Men of World War Two;
4. Why we won't get UFO Disclosure.

The Socorro Flying Saucer - Photo/Model
Now this is interesting: one of the people I met at the Ohio MUFON gig this past weekend was one of MUFON Ohio's investigators, Rob Mercer.
Rob has acquired a massive collection (and I do mean massive) of ORIGINAL Air Force Project Blue Book files and had them on display at the conference.
Rob very generously gave me a photo from the collection.
It clearly shows a model display of the famous Socorro, New Mexico UFO landing case of 1964 - complete with models of the UFO, 2 small aliens, and police officer Lonnie Zamora hauling ass away from the UFO and his car.
Does anyone have any idea if the model was made by the Air Force, or was it for a UFO convention display (or similar)?
Maybe the Air Force thought it was a cool display and decided to photograph it for their files?
Anyone got answers?
My guess is a display created for a UFO gig or a UFO museum, but even so, the background suggests it must have been a significantly big display.
Mysterious Universe: A Few New Articles
There are a few new Mysterious Universe articles from me, including ones on the JFK assassination of 1963, The Beast of Bladenoro, the Gypsy in Black, and anomalous apes in the movies.

Demons in the Defense Department
That's the topic of my new Mysterious Universe article which begins...
"In November 1991, a Nebraskan priest named Ray Boeche had a clandestine meeting with a pair of physicists working on a top secret program for the U.S. Department of Defense. Both men were deeply worried and were looking for advice and guidance from Boeche on the project in which they were immersed.
"The classified operation, Boeche was told, revolved around attempts by certain elements of the DoD to contact what were termed 'Non-Human Entities,' or NHEs. Most people might call them extraterrestrials, aliens, or in terms of the field of Ufology and popular culture – 'the Grays.' For a while, the DoD referred to them in those terms, too. But not for long. As Ray Boeche listened carefully to what his Deep Throat sources told him, he came to realize that the Pentagon was dabbling in decidedly dangerous areas."

The Marconi Deaths - Revisited
Over at Mysterious Universe I take a look at a strange and controversial phenomenon that caught the attention of many in conspiracy-based fields in the 1980s and 1990s: the numerous deaths of employees of Marconi.
Regardless of your personal opinion (coincidence, murder, mind-control, or something else) it's a genuinely odd saga - which you can find right here.

"They Rode The Flying Saucers"
That's the title of a new film I was interviewed for last year, on the subject of the Contactee/Space Brother phenomenon of the 1950s. This looks to be a very good study of the entire controversy and not to be missed!
You can find more on They Rode The Flying Saucers right here.
Chupacabra Island
For those who may be interested, the Travel Channel's recent series, Mysteries at the National Parks, gets re-run at the end of next week.
I was filmed in Puerto Rico for one of the episodes, titled "Chupacabra Island," during my most recent trip to Puerto Rico.
The episode airs on Saturday June 13 at 1PM Central and on Thursday June 18 at 10AM Central.
Mysterious Universe, 1 & 2
There are two new UFO/alien-themed articles from me at Mysterious Universe, one on the so-called "Brookings Report" and the other on the CIA's Robertson Panel of the early 1950s.

Contact in the Desert
A few photos from this past weekend, at the "Contact in the Desert" gig, at Joshua Tree, California, where I was speaking. The subject: the extensive, now-declassified FBI files on various Contactees from 1950s-era Ufology, including George Adamski, Truman Bethurum, George Van Tassel, George Hunt Williamson, and Frank Stranges. Plus the declassified files on George King and the Aetherius Society that were created by the British Police Force's Special Branch way back when...
