Roswell Slides = Puke on the Sidewalk

"Well, more than two months have now passed since the Roswell Slides were unveiled in Mexico. Or, rather, since the slides of a dead, mummified child were unveiled, and the entire house of cards came quickly crashing down. But, I’m still being asked about the slides affair – and particularly so on radio shows – and Chris Knowles has a new article on the subject at his Secret Sun blog. So, there’s still some life left in a discussion of the slides.

"All this brings me to the subject of today’s article: how will the slides impact upon the future of research into the Roswell affair? It’s a question that’s not easy to answer. My prediction, however, is that the impact will almost certainly be negative. Such was the extent to which we were told and assured that this was, finally, the proof we were waiting for, I suspect many will be highly suspicious of anything and everything that surfaces in the future on the 'R Word.' They won’t just be suspicious; they will be skeptical too. And quite rightly."

That's how my second Mysterious Universe of today begins. You can find it right here.

Death Worms and "Other" Roswell Mysteries

Over at Mysterious Universe, I take a look at (a) the strange saga of the Mongolian Death Worm; and (b) the other mysteries of Roswell (the latter may offer much relief for those sick and tired of the fucking fiasco known as the "Roswell Slides").

PS: for those who may be wondering, the photo above relates directly to one of those other mysteries of Roswell. As I note in the article, back in late 2005, me and a bunch of friends held a midnight seance in one of the old hangars at Roswell...

Roswell Slides Latest

Thanks to the excellent work of Shepherd Johnson (who used the Freedom of Information Act and who has just secured a near-200 page collection of material on the matter), it's finally time to put the "Roswell Slides" issue to rest. Check it out!

Roswell Slides - Excellent Resource

If you're looking for the ultimate resource tool on the saga of the so-called "Roswell Slides," the articles, the blog posts, and who said what, where and when, this is it, thanks to Stephen Miles Lewis of the Anomaly Archives. Check it out!

Roswell Slides - Dead and Buried

Well, the biggest soap-opera since Dallas is now over.

The Roswell Slides are as a dead as the mummy that they show.

Certain heads should be hanging in shame. Whether they are, however, is another matter entirely.

I could go on and on about this scummy affair, but, frankly, I have better things to do with my time.

Instead, I'll refer you to what I consider to be the most relevant and important post-collapse articles.

1: Check out Paul Kimball's Red Star Films blog for a number of excellent posts.

2. Rich Reynolds' UFO Conjecture(s) blog.

3. Kevin Randle's latest post on the slides.

Roswell Slides: An Answer?

Below is a link to a new Mysterious Universe article from me on the Roswell Slides.

Yes, it's speculative and based on a hypothesis of mine, but I think it's a valid one.

Take a careful look at the article, and particularly the old museum I mention in the article.

I think there is a good chance this is where the photos were taken.

Plus, the nature of what was held at the museum explains other things too (such as the "wolf head" in the slide) - and it's a New Mexico museum filled with oddities - and it also has a dead alien story attached to it.

And NM was an area that Bernerd Ray's work covered.

Anyway, here's the link, feel free to link to it, fwd etc.

By the time you read this, I'll be on my way to Phoenix, AZ for a lecture. I'll be offline while away, but back online either Sunday night or Monday morning. So, if you leave a comment,  note that it won't be seen until I'm back, as I moderate all comments (thanks to a few morons whose actions forced me to moderate them).

My Latest on the Roswell Slides

There's a new Mysterious Universe article from me on the Roswell Slides that addresses two issues:

1. A certain image that appears in the slides that puts matters into a very different context.

2.  The matter of how the slides are going to impact (negatively) on the overall Roswell mystery.

It's right here.

Kevin Randle on the Roswell Slides

Kevin Randle has a new article at his A Different Perspective blog - the subject being, of course, the Roswell Slides.

It's a lengthy article, but to sum it up, Kevin is not impressed.

He's not the only one.

The numbers are growing...

The "Other Thing" in the Roswell Slides

Here's why I think the so-called "Roswell Slides" were taken in some sort of museum or "freak show."

Take a look at this link, to a large-size image of the slide.

Forget, for a moment, the body that is causing all the fuss, and instead, look behind the head of the body.

You'll see another head, which looks like a wolf head angled down, where you can see the eye, muzzle, and even teeth below the muzzle.

And, you can see the back of the small placard that sits in front of it, which obviously explains what it shows: mummy and a preserved head of an animal - it's OBVIOUS now that we are looking at some sort of museum, or menagerie, or circus type thing for entertainment purposes.

NOT a secret lab where aliens are held.

Anyone who suggests the government has a secret lab where they store dead werewolves will be punched severely about the jaw.

Roswell Slides - The Latest

Roswell Slides?

Now we have the high res image, the answer is: No!

Mummified child.

Also, check out the hairy head behind the main head. It, too, has a small white placard by it.

Clearly this is some sort of museum setting, or freak show.

Interesting, but it has zero relevance to Roswell.

Here's the link where you can see the photo much better, and you can see the second, darker, hairy head behind it, and you can clearly see the back of the small placard, which no doubt describes what it shows.

Zero to do with ET. Move along.

PS:

Here's a few new links from Rich Reynolds' UFO Conjectures blog, and I'm sure more will come, and I'll link to them here as they surface.

1. Article one: "Questionable Testimony?"

2. Article two: "Note the male hand in this photo."

3. Article three: "The May 5th Coup de grace or coup de morte?"

Roswell Slides - A Couple Of Comments

More than a few people have asked me if I have signed up to watch the revealing of the "Roswell Slides" in Mexico.

The answer is: "Nope!"

I figure that, by tomorrow, whatever is worth knowing will be known, and what isn't worth knowing will be out there, too.

Some time tomorrow, I'll dig into what those who did watch it have to say and I'll post links to the most interesting posts/articles, etc, right here.

Whatever the outcome, the world will not be any different tomorrow in the slightest.

The reason?

Simple: whatever the slides show (or don't show), they are still just slides.

The slides, alone, cannot prove aliens crashed outside of Roswell - or, indeed, crashed anywhere. Just about the only thing that can prove that is DNA or a body for inspection. And pictures ain't DNA or a body.

My prediction for tonight and tomorrow: a great deal of debate, a lot of loud and shrill voices on the importance of the people who have commented positively on the slides, and the Roswell debate given a new injection of blood.

But, at the end of the day, it will still come back to what I said above: slides can't prove the existence of aliens.

Tomorrow: Roswell Slides Day

For those who know, don't know, care or don't care, tomorrow is the day the so-called Roswell Slides get unveiled in Mexico.

What will it all mean?

Will we get answers?

More questions?

Everything?

Nothing?

Somewhere in between?

My answer: dunno. Yet.

All I do know is that whatever the outcome, it all (or some of it) comes out tomorrow.

So, here are a few of the final posts that you may want to check out before the world changes.

Or doesn't...

Rich Reynolds provides us with a post that gives the thoughts of Don Schmitt and Richard Dolan on the slides...

Rich also posts on the matter of who has seen the slides and commented on what they show...

Kevin Randle comments on why the Roswell Slides may not be the Roswell Slides. Here's the link...

Kevin also notes the recent death in someone who became a central figure in the saga of the Roswell bodies: Glenn Dennis...

The Roswell Slides - Countdown

Only a few more days until the unveiling of the so-called Roswell slides. No, don't get excited, these aren't the slides - they are just some decades-old card slide holders I just happen to have laying around...

The Roswell Slides and the "Ant People"

There's another new article from me on the "Roswell Slides." You can find it at Mysterious Universe and it starts like this:

"Last week, I revealed here at Mysterious Universe that back in 2012, I was given the extensive files, notes, correspondence and archives of the late UFO researcher Kathy Kasten. I also noted that, as Kathy’s files show, much of her research was focused upon studying claims that one of the people who was brought in to study the mysterious bodies reportedly found outside of Roswell, New Mexico, in July 1947, was William Randolph Lovelace II – a man with a prestigious background and who worked with both the U.S. military and NASA.

"But, there is something else about those fascinating files I inherited: repeated references (specifically in relation to the curious corpses found on the Foster Ranch, Lincoln County) to legends concerning the legendary 'Ant People.' And, if you’re not aware of the controversy, you’ll likely say: 'Huh? Ant People?' Okay, let me explain."

The Roswell Slides: The Kodachrome Controversy

Over at Rich Reynolds' UFO Conjecture(s) blog, there is a new guest post from Jose Antonio Caravaca, on the matter of the cardboard Kodak sleeves that hold the slides purporting to show a body from the Roswell crash.

Jose says: "...although the Kodak company ceased production of the aforementioned type of cardboard sleeves in 1949, it does not mean that in any camera store in the United States stopped using them. They would have continued until their inventory of them was exhausted, the switched to the new Kodak sleeves. Therefore, the evidence surrounding the dating of the slides is circumstantial..."

I don't have a solid view on what the slides show (or don't), and like most of us, I'm waiting to see what will be revealed in Mexico next month. But there is something people might find intriguing...

I personally possess numerous, old, cardboard slide covers, one of which contains a photo of a flying saucer, from around 1969. Yes, it's true! Well, in a way it's true.

When I was about 4 or 5, my dad (whose job was a carpenter) made me a wooden flying saucer, about 10 inches wide, and which he painted, added landing gear, and which looked pretty cool! I used to play with it for hours!

One day, my dad and I thought it would be cool to take a photo of the saucer, and so he hung it on a piece of cotton (or string, or whatever, it barely matters now) on the washing-line in the back garden and snapped a shot. He then got it developed and had a slide of it made - mounted in an old Kodak, 1960s-era cardboard sleeve.

Of course, it's important I stress that this was not intended as a hoax, no money was made from it, and it was only shared with family and friends as a bit of fun and nothing else. It was just something made, and photographed, by a father for his very young son.

That's the slide above. And at the end of this post is the photo (you can just see the washing-line on the top right, from which the intergalactic Adamski scout-craft was carefully hung).

What this serves to demonstrate is that having a controversial image housed in a cardboard, Kodak sleeve and from a specific time-frame proves nothing, regardless of its year.

It's what's in the image that is important (or, conversely, isn't important). It's not hard, at all, to get hold of very old cardboard slide frames. Indeed, thanks to my dad, I have a huge collection of old family photos all preserved in 50 and 60 year old cardboard, Kodak frames.

No doubt, some of the more paranoid elements of Ufology might ponder (given the saucer photo, and the decades-old cardboard sleeve) on the possibility that I had a role in the slides issue - which I didn't, of course.

However...if I wanted to, I could easily have a slide made of something weird (or allegedly weird) and insert it in one of those hundreds of old 1960s-era slide covers I possess. Lo and behold, something new appears to be something from the 1960s.

What a thought! The thick plottens...

From God To The Roswell Slides

That's the topic of Rich Reynolds' new post at UFO Conjecture(s) on the matter of those slides...

Roswell Slides/Not Roswell Slides

Kevin Randle, at his A Different Perspective blog, gives us the latest news on the "Roswell Slides," which, apparently, we shouldn't be calling the "Roswell Slides," after all. If you're confused, you're definitely not the only one...

Roswell Slides and Shady Characters

That's the subject of my new Mysterious Universe article, which focuses on the controversial lives of two guys who got involved in the crashed UFO controversy back in the 1940s and who are now (even after death) playing a role in the saga of the so-called Roswell Slides. Their names: Leo Gebauer and Silas Newton.

Here's the link.

Adios to the Roswell Slides

That's the subject of my new Mysterious Universe article, which starts...

"The controversy surrounding what have become known as the “Roswell Slides” has been going on for more than a couple of years now. It began as a trickle of whispers, rumors, and conversations with various sources, some known and others still unknown. Then it hit the Net. There was debate back and forth. Opinions were voiced. And there was the still-unresolved matter of computer hacking, in the summer of 2014, in relation to the story. But, now, in March 2015, there’s something else.

"Check out the latest blog-posts and comments at Kevin Randle’s A Different PerspectiveRich Reynolds’ UFO Conjecture(s), and Paul Kimball’s The Other Side of Truth. It’s not an exaggeration to say that all-out, bloody war has practically erupted within the field of Ufology. The only things absent are incoming missiles, drone strikes, and panzer divisions on the horizon. There are the believers, the doubters, the middle of the road crowd, and those who find the whole thing downright bizarre. And, in certain cases, views are changing. Which brings me to the point of this article."
