UFO Fakery Will Get You In Hot Water!


My new Mysterious Universe article tells the strange story of a film-maker and actor named Mikel Conrad who, in 1949, claimed possession of real footage of UFOs in flight.

It was actually all a big hoax to promote his forthcoming,1950 movie, The Flying Saucer.

But, when Conrad made his faked claim, the Air Force quietly opened a file on the man and started an investigation of both him and his claims.

The result: he was quickly in deep shit of the saucer-shaped kind...

Faking a Crashed UFO



A crashed UFO in New Mexico, dead extraterrestrials, alien autopsies, and a secret group of scientists: no, we're not talking about Roswell, July 1947. Although you might be forgiven for thinking we are.

Nope. Instead, we're talking about an intriguing novel and its equally intriguing author. Moreover, it's a story that was unleashed on the world less than a year after Roswell, but which contains certain ingredients that eerily parallel what was to come in the ufological field decades later.
