Books and Books...

Picked up two cool, old, non-fiction books yesterday, George Laycock's The Alien Animals, and Kenneth Anderson's The Black Panther of Sivanipalli.

Also, received in the mail today a copy of a new book on the death of journalist Dorothy Kilgallen - a significant figure in the saga of the JFK assassination of November 22, 1963. A review of the Kilgallen book to follow! Its title: The Reporter Who Knew Too Much. And the author, Mark Shaw.

JFK, Black Helicopters, Demons and More...

The craziest theory for who whacked JFK? You can find my candidate right here...

And also in terms of high-strangeness,  over at Mysterious Universe I highlight a very strange theory to explain the "Phantom Helicopter"/"Black Helicopter" phenomenon.

More on UFOs & JFK

As a follow-on to my previous article on JFK, Guy Banister, and UFOs, there's another one from me at Mysterious Universe which expands on the controversy. Here's how it starts:

In response to my recent article, UFOs, JFK, and an Enigmatic Character,” sixteen people contacted me to see what I thought about the allegations that President John F. Kennedy’s assassination – on November 22, 1963, in Dallas, Texas – had a connection to the UFO issue. The reason being that the aforementioned article was focused on a man named Guy Banister. He was someone who investigated a number of UFO reports while working as a special-agent of the FBI in 1947. He was also someone who turns up in numerous books on the Kennedy assassination. Usually, from a sinister and conspiratorial perspective.

It’s fair to say that within the field of Ufology, there are more than a few people who believe – or suspect – that JFK was whacked to prevent him from blowing the lid on his knowledge of the UFO phenomenon. I’ve written about aspects of this highly controversial issue before, and it’s worth noting just how many connections there are between UFOs and the killing of JFK. Or, to be absolutely correct, the assumed connections. Ufology is, at times, very good at putting pieces of a ufological puzzle together. On other occasions, however, the field is guilty of leaping to conclusions based on nothing but assumption and by playing the extraterrestrial equivalent of “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon.”

More JFK Assassination-Related Pics...

And a few more JFK assassination-connected pictures taken this week, while my dad is over here. These were taken at the grave of police officer J.D. Tippit, believed (by some, but not all) to have been shot and killed by Lee Harvey Oswald.

Oswald's Grave...

Just got back from taking my dad to see the grave of Lee Harvey Oswald, which is only about 15 minutes drive from where I live.

I was surprised to see it covered in flowers - which, depending on who you think really shot JFK, is either a good thing or a bad thing!

Here's a few pictures.

Note the grave next to Oswald marked "Nick Beef."

There is an interesting story behind that which you can find online.

Just search on "Nick Beef Gravestone" and you will find it.

The interesting thing is that there is no-one buried there...

A Weekend of the JFK Assassination...

Well, as my dad came over Thursday night for a 2-week holiday (after a 6-hour delay at Newark, which meant we finally got back to my place at 3AM Friday morning, instead of around 9PM Thursday night!), he arrived right at the time of the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination.

So, on Saturday, we went to the "Arlington Conference 50th Anniversary Conference," the main focus of which was Judyth Vary Baker's book, Me and Lee: How I came to know, love and lose Lee Harvey Oswald.

Here are a few pictures from the day - one of Judyth, one of her book, and one with me and co-organizer and radio-host, Popeye Jefferson.

JFK, UFOs & Penthouse

The new issue of Penthouse magazine includes a 4-page article from me on the JFK assassination (which has it's 50th anniversary next week). The article is written in a "top 10 theories"-style, with those theories ranging from the Russians to the Cubans, Oswald to a secret government group with UFO links, and to much more. And, as it's Penthouse, if you don't like the article, there's always the pictures :)

UFOs & The JFK Assassination

Over at the website of the Dallas Morning News, there is a small feature on me which deals with one of the strangest aspects of the JFK assassination (which reaches its 50th anniversary in just a few weeks), namely, the links to the UFO subject...

Here's the link.

JFK & UFOs - Part 1

The famous Book Depository and the infamous 6th floor...

As readers of this blog will know, I regularly write for Mysterious Universe.

Most of my posts for MU are stand-alone articles. The new one, however, is a bit different. It's the first of many in an on-going series that I'll be posting between now and November.

Why November? Well, the opening two paragraphs of Part-1 (below) will give you a clue...

"November 22 of this year marks the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, at Dealey Plaza, Dallas, Texas. It’s a place I know very well, as it’s only a short journey from where I live. One of the areas of controversy surrounding the assassination that is seldom discussed in a serious forum is that which posits a link between the event itself and the UFO controversy.

"As fantastic as it may appear, there is a demonstrable body of evidence available that links numerous people to the JFK saga who were also allied to the UFO subject. More notably, nearly all of those people with connections to the JFK story were specifically linked with crashed-saucer accounts, rather than just the UFO subject in general."

And here's where you can find Part-1 of my ongoing look at the many (actually loads!) links between UFOs and the JFK assassination...

Me and Marilyn Monroe...

No, the title of this post is not a reference to some sensational bit of gossip! But, read on, anyway...

As you may recall, I wrote a post a few days ago about a series of strange events that occurred to me last Sunday when I was in LA - such as (A) meeting a Charles Fort; and (B) being checked into a hotel-room numbered 1163.

As I noted in the original post, right before flying out to LA I had been doing research for an on-going and extensive project into the connections between UFOs and the JFK assassination of 1963. JFK was assassinated in November of that year. Or, 11/63. My room number: 1163.

Well, something else popped into my mind this morning: there's a highly controversial story - and equally controversial, alleged CIA document - in UFO research circles suggesting that JFK secretly confided in Hollywood hotty Marilyn Monroe his knowledge of crashed UFOs and bodies.

The reason: so he could impress her into bed, of course! Alien conspiracies aren't without their benefits! You can find an article, from me, on this very strange saga right here.

But, here's the new bit of info I want to relate: the very day when everything went weird for me in LA, last Sunday, was August 5. That just happens to have been the 50th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe's controversial death.

So, I had been researching the UFO/JFK angle (including the Marilyn Monroe saga, on which I have tons of data); I got checked into a hotel room that corresponded with the date-death of JFK; and the day in question marked the half-a-century passing of Marilyn Monroe!

Coincidence? Me simply making connections that anyone can make if they dig deep enough? Or something else? Any thoughts....????

A Cinema of Secrets

One of the many reasons I like living in the Dallas/Fort Worth area is that it's filled with history, strange secrets and deep intrigue. And far more than a few of those issues relate to the JFK assassination of 1963.

This looks like a couple of shots of me hanging out at an old theatre, right? Well, you're correct! But, this is no ordinary theatre. This is that theatre. You know, the one where Lee Harvey Oswald got arrested after killing (or not killing!) the president on that fateful day.

And in the almost half a century that has now gone by since the infamous murder took place, the place has really not changed at all.

I'll perhaps load a few more images of intrigue from the DFW area over the next few weeks...
