For those who may be wondering it's actually nothing to do with the Men in Black! It's a gravestone for Marvin Ivan Barrow, brother of Clyde Barrow (as in Bonnie and Clyde), who is buried not far from where I live...

Women in Black - Update

As some of you will know (because you have been interviewed for it!) I have a book coming out in 2016 titled Women In Black, a study of the less well-known companions of the MIB. Men In Black Weirdness

Well, this is a bit weird...

I was just finalizing the Word document of my new Men in Black book, to finish up the edit before it goes to publication when, at that very moment, I heard a bang from one of my rooms, so I checked it out.

The maintenance people had been working on something on the outside of one of my exterior walls the last hour. And, the vibration of their hammering and tools had shaken a framed picture off my interior side of the wall and it had fallen to the ground and shattered the glass. 

It just happened to be a framed, old letter written by Albert Bender, the man who pretty much kicked off the whole Men in Black thing in the early 1950s. 

I know it was the vibration of the maintenance tools that caused it to fall off and shatter, but the coincidental timing of me closing the MIB file and the MIB picture falling to the ground and the glass breaking at the exact same time was, er, "interesting." 

But shit like this happens all the time LOL.

An interesting new article on the Men in Black, Gray Barker and Albert Bender...

Bonnie & Clyde and a (kind of) Man in Black

 

Well, since I decided to take 10 days or so off work for Christmas, I figured it would be a good time to show my dad (over here on holiday for 2 weeks) a few of the sights of Dallas that he had never previously seen.

 

And that included the graves of legendary outlaws Bonnie and Clyde - both of who are buried in the Dallas area, but at different cemeteries.

So, we headed out on a cold, icy morning last week to check them out, and here's a few shots...
 

And if you're wondering about this last one (taken right next to the grave of Clyde), no it's not evidence that a Man in Black is buried at the cemetery!

Although, I have to say that the irony of me (having written extensively about the MIB) coming across it did not escape me!

In reality, it's nothing stranger than a marker for the grave of Clyde's brother, whose initials happened to be MIB: Marvin Ivan Barrow.
